Hi, I’m happy you came to my website. This will be a conglomeration of ideas, thoughts and reflections that I am experiencing or understanding. In addition, you will get a glimpse of who I am. Because of the changes I’m making in my personal and professional life, I am providing a summary of how I am currently working with clients as well as my academic background. Recently, I stumbled upon a way of helping my clients due to my own more clearer understanding of spiritual principles.
To me a short-hand definition of spiritual principles is “the laws that are operating in the unseen world.” And especially, recently, it’s an understanding of the psychology behind how the mind works. Now and again I will be posting YouTube videos, interviews and recordings that I think do a particularly good job of helping me (and possibly you, too) to understand these principles.
I worked at the VA in Las Vegas (VHALAS) for over ten years in Primary Care, the MOVE weight management program, the Women’s Program and Mental Health. I’ve been trained or certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Depression, EMDR, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Clinical Hypnosis. I worked for four years as a Intern at Safe House and learned a tremendous amount about Domestic Violence. I have a lot of experience working with people who have experienced extreme trauma. I was also trained as a personal coach prior to obtaining my Masters in Social Work and Masters in Spiritual Psychology.
Just like you, I’ve been on a quest for the answers to a life of peace and happiness. I’ve had several awakenings or “insights” that have helped me on this journey. My most recent was that the way I’ve been doing therapy isn’t as helpful as sharing my own personal experience of growth as well as insights I’ve gained into the 3 Principles as expressed by Sydney Banks.
I was trained to focus on the past and expect emotional catharsis to heal it. This has been very difficult for many of my clients, not to mention, difficult to watch, and fortunately, now I know better. Some of my most tormented clients have tried to point me in the right direction by letting me know how painful their past was, but due to my ignorance, I continued to aid in the pain they were experiencing and I am sorry.
I now know that when we are born, we are provided with the health and well-being we need to experience peace for our entire life. This is the direction in which I want my clients to look.
Below I have listed some of my academic accomplishments, although, what’s much more important is knowing that you are all you need, that you have the wisdom in you to make the best decision possible, there are no mistakes, and the guidance you seek is within you. I look forward to sharing my new understanding with you.
